Cutting and preparation

Every handmade garment is based on upcycled denim shapes. Approximately four pairs of jeans contribute to the short jacket, more denim, about 8, for the longer jacket. Once all the sizes and design ideas have been finalized the fun part (the making) can begin. The first step is to wash, dry and press the denim. These items are then cut by hand and stitched together by machine.

This takes approximately half a day

Assembling and joining

The denim shapes are then assembled to effectively make a piece of material. This material is then cut to sizes and pieces to fit the customized pattern and the garment being made.

This step takes approximately half a day

Hand stitch and Finishing

To complete the boro style, the now assembled garment is hand stitched to finish. This can incorporate designs and simple lines. The principle of boro being hand finished and repaired clothing. The hand stitching completes this look. Don't hesitate to contact me if there is something you would like to see incorporated into your look! This is the chance to reinforce your own customized piece of eco fashion, inspired by Japan.

Due to the nature of hand stitching this is the step that takes the most time.

Approximately four days for the long jacket!
